Considering God’s Creation, Part 2

I think this is a Squirrel Tree Frog. Notice the suction cups on the toes. This critter was hanging on our window this evening and didn’t mind having his picture taken. He’s about two inches long, and noisier than all-get-out!

Notice the yellow on the back legs. This is a male frog, looking for a female. Someone needs to tell him the lady frogs are in the pool area! Guess I’ll have to check the pool for eggs again tomorrow. Oh, and I need to take photos of the tadpoles so you can see how they’re growing!

I had a neighbor recently call me to come over to ID something weird on one of her bushes. I went over and didn’t know what it was so she didn’t want it so I cut it off and brought it home. I thought it was some sort of spider egg case but I wasn’t sure. I’d seen these before and wondered what they were. Anyway, a few days later I was browsing through the book Exploring Creation Flying Creatures of the 5th Day and low and behold, there was my mystery thing. It is a praying mantis egg case! I was so delighted and thanked God for this and I’ll tell you why. Over the winter we were thinking of purchasing praying mantis egg cases to hatch this spring. Well, I never got around to getting any. God provided one for us AND told me what it was! He is so amazing. He’s our Yahweh jirah! We are definately creation junkies around here!

Praying Mantis! How exciting!! We caught a PM when we lived in KS and it was great fun catching flies to put in her habitat. Fascinating! She’d sway back and forth for awhile until she was ready to grab the fly.

Their egg cases *are* really strange looking, aren’t they? I had researched them online, and then found one on a fence. Too cool!
